Introducing Sparva, formerly MemberVerify

I have two big announcements this week. Today, I'd like to announce that MemberVerify is now Sparva.

Long story short, my attorney suggested I make a change due to trademark issues, so that's what I did. I launched the brand last week at AMS Fest 2026. I talked with a lot of great people there, and I'm looking forward to continued conversations about how Sparva can increase revenue for associations.

Why Sparva?

I decided to make the change two weeks ago and spent a couple of days brainstorming ideas, everything from staying close to MemberVerify to going fully abstract (think Xerox, before there was a Xerox).

One of the things I brainstormed was animals. Birds, cats, bears, you name it. I landed on the American Kestrel, a falcon that hovers in place while it hunts. That felt symbolic of what we do. We watch your data, looking for opportunities to update and enrich it.

Everything related to Kestrel, Kestra, and the like was taken, so I looked up the Latin name for the American Kestrel. Falco sparverius. From there, it was a short trip to Sparva.

If you're into branding, or you use your imagination (pretend you're six), you'll see the wings and head of the bird in the logo. There's also a nod to the old MemberVerify checkmark hidden in the wings.

I want to thank Cindy Stoeppler, who is a phenomenal designer and did an incredible job on the logo. If you're looking for someone great, I can't recommend her enough.
